WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis (R) gave his take on last night’s Democratic victory for Miami’s mayoral election. While most of the governing power lies within the city commission instead of the mayor’s office, the outcome adds to GOP worry about the 2026 midterm election.
During a press event on Wednesday, DeSantis said the following when asked by MostlyPeaceful.media about the election results: “The most important thing you gotta do is deliver for the voters that sent you there. You gotta have your base of support that feels like they need to go to the polls and vote to send you back to the Congress or to the U.S. Senate.”
“When you deliver for people, I do think people do respond,” he continued.
