GOP Midterm Disaster: What Happens Next With Immigration And The Border

Well…that was brutal.

While Republicans were hoping for the best, worst-case scenario, Tuesday turned into the ultimate worst-case scenario for the GOP. “Contested” races were anything but and seats thought safe flipped for Democrats.

Democrats expanded their Senate majority to the point where it will be very difficult for Republicans to make any gains in 2028, assuming there is a chance for that.

As always, I’m looking at what this outcome means for immigration enforcement and movements south of our border. My recent report in Tapachula, Mexico confirmed the migrant caravans are leaving at an increased pace because of Democrats’ momentum.

Yes, President Trump’s policies will be in place for at least the next two years, but the migrants are hoping Democrats will win again in 2028 and reverse his “cruel” policies. Do you think DHS and ICE will be funded in any meaningful way once the current funding dries up within two years?

I have said this before and I will say it again: Migrants are more than willing to wait and work in Mexico for another two years if it means they can spend the rest of their lives in the United States. They are playing the long game. Last night showed American voters are not.

Should Democrats take back control of the White House and maintain their Congressional majorities, the next border crisis will be worse. Here is why.
