TAPACHULA, Mexico — For long time readers of MostlyPeaceful.media, you have seen my reports from Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala. The constant stream of migrants seeking to reach Mexico’s northern border with the United States is the primary reason why I keep visiting the area.
Having long kept tabs on migrant caravans leaving Tapachula, I was caught off guard at the increased tempo of groups walking out of the city on their own instead of waiting for the Mexican government to issue them visas.
The timing of the caravans leaving at an increased pace is no accident.
