I'm starting to think I need a whole special folder to save the heartfelt, solid, well-delivered, and just plain great words of JD Vance. It's inspiring to me, ancient and creaky, to see the public maturing of an emerging panoply of leaders across the Trump team. I can only imagine what it feels like for younger generations who have had nothing but scolding and demagoguery, manipulation, and gaslighting at least 12 of the last 16 years, and not better before that. I pray for this vanguard, these men and women and their families, and the better citizenship we may develop through their examples. We need to build up similar state and local leaders.
