It should not be surprising to read when I write that the last time October had this many chaotic and violent protests was in 2020. That year, on the eve of the election, saw BLM riots in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, but they did not happen at the same time. That was then.
Now, after some violent protests and calls for violence during the “No Kings” events over this past weekend, the Left is still getting out in the streets in response to ongoing immigration enforcement operations.
Portland, Oregon
The Rose City is just the gift that just keeps on giving, if the gift were used needles and tear gas canisters. After a violent weekend outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, the party continued last night.
As if they are set to prove themselves to be a law enforcement agency beholden to Antifa, Portland Police officers were caught on video providing cover to Antifa members who were being shot with pepper balls. One individual ran behind the officers for cover. The local officers did not move despite being feet away from the initial confrontation. Journalist Nick Sortor caught the moment when Federal Protective Service officers confronted Portland Police about being used as human shields, to which the PP (heh) claimed they didn’t know why the person was running.
Los Angeles, California
L.A. has been pretty quiet as of late considering it was the first city to mobilize to resist President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts back in February. I was in Los Angeles for Mexican Independence Day in September expecting to see a large crowd gather outside the Federal Building downtown. Instead, it was the smallest crowd I’ve seen there and basically nothing happened. I was beyond shocked as it appeared the residents were weary after months of being out in the streets.
That changed on Tuesday when an illegal alien used his car to ram federal vehicles after being boxed in by agents who were attempting to arrest him. The suspect, Carlitos Ricardo Parias, gained a following on social media by trailing ICE and Border Patrol operations in the area while live streaming. After not following the commands while still attempting to ram, according to the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice, agents opened fire and struck Parias. A deputy U.S. marshal was also hit by a ricochet.
Anti-ICE crowds formed outside the hospital where both the deputy marshal and Parias were being treated, forcing LAPD to form a perimeter and the hospital locking down the main lobby.
It was not just Leftists’ reaction to the shooting that shows the insurrection is ongoing in the city. Ron Gochez, the spokesman for anti-ICE group Union Del Barrio, called for illegal aliens to defend themselves with firearms.
“Don’t forget where you’re standing, this is South Central LA. [ICE] are not the only ones with guns in this city. Don’t forget that. And I don’t say that because I’m calling for violence. I’m saying that because the people have every right to defend themselves against masked, unidentified gunmen. The people have every right to defend themselves. That’s not violent, that’s intelligent,” he said during a press conference.
New York City
NYC is one area I thought I would spend more time in this year considering its demographics. While there has been moments here and there, it hasn’t reached the same chaos level in Chicago or Portland on a consistent basis. Once again, that changed on Tuesday after federal agents raided the counterfeit sellers on Canal Street in Manhattan.
Things got out of control when bystanders got involved and attacked agents as they left the scene after making arrests. Clashes broke out and some in the crowd were arrested for assault on federal agents.
The protests continued outside Federal Plaza, where the leftist mob tried to block vehicles leaving the building in tactics similar to Portland and Broadview. NYPD had to fight off and arrest some in the crowd who refused to move out of the street.
As usual, Democrat politicians are taking the side of the illegal aliens and people who targeted law enforcement.
“Thanks to the New Yorkers who mobilized quickly. #ICEOutOfNYC,” said New York City Comptroller Brad Lander.
“Today [Trump’s] agents used batons and pepper spray on street vendors and bystanders on Canal Street. You don’t make New York safer by attacking New Yorkers,” Governor Kathy Hochul complained on X.
This is just a snapshot of the very real and coordinated resistance across the country. I suspect this will continue until it gets too cold by December, but even places like Los Angeles can be comfortable for outdoor actions during the winter. I know things will ramp up again come spring time next year.

It is apparent that these illegals and their local supporters suppose that they can just declare themselves above the law. That is not going to happen, and it surely will not result in Americans submitting to this. They might want to realize that the elected government was voted in by the majority of Americans who support rule of law and control over our country. This confrontation is not going to go their way, but only escalate the opposition.
